Gambro - Reaches milestone in PET Technology R&D

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) (August 07, 2002) – Gambro subsidiary Gambro BCT has together with its strategic partner Sangart demonstrated the pathogen reduction efficacy of Gambro's Pathogen Reduction Technology in the preparation of Sangart's oxygen transport agent Hemospan, according to a statement.

The demonstration marks a research and development milestone for Gambro's PET technology, according to the statement.

Sangart will now use the technology to inactivate viruses potentially infecting the red blood cells in their new lead product Hemospan.
