Sangart, Inc. Announces Opening of European Office - New Senior Management Addition To Team

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 27, 2009) – Sangart, Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing life-saving medicines specifically designed to enhance the perfusion and oxygenation of ischemic (oxygen deprived) tissues through targeted oxygen delivery, today announced the opening of its European office and the addition of R. Wayne Frost, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance to the company's management team.The European office, located in London, will serve as the base of operations for Sangart's commercial, clinical and regulatory activities around the MP4 product platform in Europe. The MP4 molecule is an investigational biopharmaceutical product designed to enhance the perfusion and oxygenation of ischemic tissues.

"The opening of this office cements our presence in Europe and will provide a home-base to manage our activities in this region," said Brian O'Callaghan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sangart. "The recent round of funding we received from investors allows us to continue to expand our efforts in both Europe and the United States for the development of MP4."

Sangart, whose corporate headquarters is located San Diego, California, recently received $50 million in funding from existing investors. The funding will support clinical research of the MP4 molecule.

Sangart today also announced the appointment of R, Wayne Frost to its management team as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. Mr. Frost brings more than twenty years of drug development experience, recently serving as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Systems at Prometheus Laboratories, a private specialty pharmaceutical company. He also previously held senior regulatory roles at Amgen, Pfizer, Astra and Metabasis Therapeutics.
