Automation Engineer

Description of Duties:

• Responsible for maintaining automated control systems and instrumentation used in control systems
• Ability to design, build, test and install automated control systems and instrumentation.
• Program, troubleshoot, test and commission Building Automation System components and associated instrumentation in Siemens Apogee system software
• Write and review SOPs pertinent to Automation & Controls Engineering.
• Provide oversight for automated control system validations as required
• Responsible for all automated control systems in support of Process Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Responsible for all automated control systems supporting the following utilities: WFI, Clean Steam, RO/DI, Clean Compressed Air, Chilled Water, Process Waste, Nitrogen and Vacuum.
• Assist with In-house Calibrations.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree combined with 3-5 years working experience or 10-15 years working experience in Automated Controls, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and BAS/BMS controls.
• Experienced in light electrical work, wiring, testing.
• Experience with the following systems preferred: WFI, Clean Steam, RO/DI, Clean Compressed Air, Chilled Water, Process Waste, Nitrogen and Vacuum.
• Proven skill in troubleshooting control systems both hardware and software.
• Experience using Allen Bradley Control Panel software, Rockwell Automation RSLogix for SLC500, PLC5, SLC100 and HMI software packages.
• Ability to operate in a cGMP environment with regards to Change Control and Exception Reporting.
• Ability to Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor.
• Promote cohesive, team oriented atmosphere within the department and externally via inter-departmental cooperation.
